Pals Paper Arts Challenge – PPA210

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #210 – Color Challenge. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in!
This weeks challenge is a color challenge!

I am using some fabulous new items on my creation for today! When I saw this color combination I wasn’t sure where to start since I usually pull out the colored papers and move on from there with color challenges. In this case I didn’t have any Basic Gray Cardstock, I know! Shocking! Then I remembered that one of my fabulous Paper Pumpkin Kits came with Basic Gray card bases and I was saved! I used the card base as my starting point and built up from there! I used a Lost Lagoon Cardstock later and then a Pool Party layer that I stamper these cute stars on using the fabulous and fun stamp set Pictogram Punches! I stamped these stars in Basic Gray Ink at full ink and half ink and then some starts in Lost Lagoon Ink. I also pulled out my Moonlight Designer Series Paper Pad and cut a strip for the side of this card that I then layered on Lost Lagoon. I pulled out my Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon (I know, they retired it but I have so much left!) and wrapped it around my Moonlight Designer Series Paper Pad piece. To finish off my card I stamped the sentiment ‘You’re A Star’ on Whisper White in Pool Party Ink and cut it out using our Deco Labels Framelits. For my last touch I popped up a punched out star using the star stamp from this set and the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack in Lost Lagoon Ink on top with Dimensionals! This card turned out to be so much fun to create! You will be seeing more creations from me using this stamp set and punch pack, they are fabulous!

I do hope you like what I had to share today, I had so much fun working
with these colors! I hope you stop by again soon! Have a wonderful day! I you would like to receive my newsletter and keep up on all my news and updates please email me at jackie.diediker @ gmail.com!

Mary’s Guest Stamper!

Today I have the honor and privilege of being a Guest Stamper at Mary Fish’s Blog Stampin’ Pretty! I am part of Mary’s wonderful group called the Pals and I just love being a part of such a fun group of Guys and Gals! The entire group is a fabulous support team and I am blessed to be a part of!

When I sat down to try and create something to share today I wasn’t sure where to start. All I knew was that I wanted to use some of the new products I picked up at the end of June. I have been having fun with a few of the Blendabilities sets and I just had to pick up the two colors I didn’t yet have which were Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. To be honest I wasn’t sure if I was going to like these colors together since I have always been drawn to the lighter and brighter colors so these colors weren’t ones I typically reac for. I was pleasantly surprised with these colors as I started to play!

I pulled out my new Sweetbriar Rose stamp and started by stamping the image using Memento Tuxedo Black which has been my favorite black ink for years. I am so glad that Stampin’ Up! now carries it! I started with the Rich Razzleberry Light Blendabilities on the central flower and continued through several layers on to the Rich Razzleberry Medium Blendabilities on top. I am loving the use of these markers! I have been an alcohol marker user for years and when Stampin’ Up! introduced their own line I was excited to try them out.  I have been having a field day with them (which you will notice in my recent posts!) and using them with our remarkable stamps is such a joy! Once my flowers were completed I decided to focus on the leaves, again adding layers and layers of Old Olive Blenabilities to these colors. I always start with the lightest color and build on it.

I love how the entire image turned out, it was not what I imagined when I began but I love how it turned out! I began to add layering for this image I wanted to pull in the colors from the card so I decided upon using the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Pad, the colors are a bit darker, but I think it works wonderfully! I layered the Sweetbriar Rose stamped image on top of Smoky Slate and then backed with Hello Honey and of course used Dimensionals. I also layered the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Pad on another piece of Smoky Slate cardstock. I also added some of the luscious Hello Honey 3/8″ Stiched Satin Ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I do hope you enjoyed my project! If you haven’t picked up the Blendabilities yet, I strongly suggest them. I will be sharing my personal Tips and Tricks with my customers who place orders for these amazing markers. My

Happy 4th of July!

Today is an amazing day! Today America gets to celebrate it’s Freedom and all that we stand for! I love the 4th of July, for me it’s a moment to reflect on what as American’s makes us different and unique. I love that we are all able to express ourselves as we wish and our liberties protect us. I know that there are places in this world that wouldn’t allow me to say what I wish, wear what I wear, live how I want to live, and express myself as I mostly do in my crafty creations. I cherish all of this more than most people may have thought, and it stays with me always.

Okay…enough rambling 🙂 Today I have a fun and patriotic inspired card to share! Yes, I pulled out my June Paper Pumpkin kit again! I can’t get over how much fun this one kit can be! While you cna’t get the full kit as a new subscriber, if you were to sign up for My Paper Pumpkin you could get a refill of this kit that would include all the papers, straws, embellishments, glue dots (there are TONS!), and goodies! It wouldn’t include the darling stamp set or the ink, but I think you would love this kit as much as I do without those exclusive components.

If this sounds like something you might want to do you can sign up now at My Paper Pumpkin Site or you can add a prepaid subscription to my Mystery Hostess Party going on right now until Sunday! There is still time to place an order and get in on the fun! Simply place an order using the hostess code 3CVP2MV9 this week (until Sunday) or place an order on my Stampin’ Up! website – Jackie Diediker to join in on the Mystery Hostess Party!

Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you take today to reflect on what freedoms you might have in your country, even if you aren’t American and aren’t celebrating the 4th of July, consider it! Have a fabulous day!
