Pals Paper Arts Challenge #272 – A Sketch

Today I have a card for you following the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #272! This week’s challenge is a fun Sketch Challenge! Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in, be sure to come and join us using this fun sketch challenge:

I had a wonderful time working with this sketch, and I of course made today’s creation Halloween inspired. I have been having a blast creating so many fun Halloween creations this year! Today’s card uses the new Howl-O-Ween stamp set and matching Boo To You Framelit Dies for this fun skull and cross bones with this ‘FaBOOlous‘ Host exclusive stamp set Six Sayings.

I also used the designer series Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper and coordinating Happy Hauntings Designer Washi Tape. I think this pop of Rich Razzleberry really makes this card pop even more. It was just the right punch that this card needed against the Basic Black and Very Vanilla tones already in please. I also used our new Basic Black Archival Ink – which I love. This ink has such clean and crisp images. If you haven’t had a chance to play with this ink yet, I would highly suggest it – plus you can watercolor with it as well. This combination of goodies plus this wonderful sketch as my starting point helped me create a fun and charming Halloween card without too much fuss.

October Pals Blog Hop – Halloween and Harvest!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October where we are celebrating an early Fall season by sharing Halloween and Autumn projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.  We hope you enjoy our creations!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Maggie Mata at Maggie Made Cards, number 21 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

For my creation today I decided to go down the ‘Halloween’ path. I wanted to create something spooky and fun, so I pulled out my Among the Branches Stamp Set. Have you had the chance to use this stamp set yet? If not you are really missing out! I keep reaching for it again and again this fall. I have seen so many samples and I am loving how versatile this set really is. I used the fabulous ‘Spooky’ circle stamped in Daffodil Delight and then I added bits of ink here and there also with Daffodil Delight. You may notice that the color isn’t as vibrant and to achieve that I used Daubers and brushed off a lot of ink on my scratch paper before adding it to my project. I then repeated that process with both Rich Razzleberry and Memento Tuxedo Black. I also added burnished edges to the entire panel with my Memento Tuxedo Black. I then went back and added my branches in Early Espresso and the creepy eyes plus owl all in Memento Tuxedo Black. I simply love the way this came together. For a bit more pop I used some Basic Black cardstock behind the Whisper White panel and mounted the whole creation on a Basic Grey card base.

I do hope you enjoyed the project I had for you today! The next stop is Rae Harper at Wild West Paper Arts, number 23 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge #271 – Color Challenge!

Today it’s time to kick off the next Pals Paper Arts Challenge #271! This week’s challenge is a fun Color Challenge with Challenge Team #2! Each week the Pals Paper Arts design team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in, be sure to come and join us using this fun sketch challenge:

For this color challenge I wanted to create something fall inspired, but with some floral elements too. I decided to combine the Beautiful Bunch Bundle plus the wonderful Merry Everything Bundle. When I see the word ‘Bundle‘ in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogs I just have to have everything to save that extra 15% and both of these Bundles are must haves! They are a great staple to your collection and I love pulling them out, but I never thought to combine the two before, well until I pulled out this week’s colors. Did you know that our wonderful English Garden Designers Series Paper comes with all three of these colors included?! I did and I just had to use it! The English Garden Designer Series Paper combines these two bundles together seamlessly! Plus, I did some tonal coloring on my ‘Grateful for You’ sentiment. Are you wondering how I achieved this neat affect? I simply inked the whole stamp in Hello Honey and added a bit of Old Olive ink to the bottom of the stamp and then used my Soft Suede on the top portion of the stamp – voila!
