Pals Blog Hop – From the Heart!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are showcasing projects using Stampin’ Up! products featuring a theme from any of the following: Valentine’s Day; Thinking of You; Get Well; or Sympathy. All of these themes come “From the Heart.”  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

For today I just couldn’t decide which creations to share with you today, but I finally settled on two very differed Valentine’s Day creations! The first one I am featuring is a card I made for an Occasions Catalog swap I participated in. I used some colors that I don’t typically pull from my supplies, but I love how they came together. The items from the Going Places Suite are so versatile that I love the range, plus I think they are a more masculine stamp set – which I always need! The Going Global stamp set has such a variety of stamps that it is hard to decide what to work with first. For this card I decided to feature the ‘Love‘ sentiment as well as the compass and then pull out the fabulous papers in the Going Places Designer Series Paper Pad. I also used my 2″ Circle Punch to mimic the compasses that adorn the background then ties it together with some of the Crumb Cake 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon.

You may or may not be able to tell, but this second card is a 3″x3″ card which I think is perfect for little notes and fabulous for Valentine’s! I wanted to create a soft and classy valentine which could be mass produced for cards to give to all of your loved ones. I pulled out the fabulous new Bloomin’ Love stamp set and used Rose Red Stampin’ Ink on this ‘My Valentine‘ sentiment. I also decided to use my Stampin’ Write Markers in Rose Red and Garden Green to color in the flowers I love how these came out – almost as if I had watercolored! Then I thought it needed something to finish off this sweet card and I pulled out my Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Pad and cut just a strip to add to the cards edge.

Thanks for visiting my blog today – I do hope that you enjoyed my projects for today and that you will come back soon. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Today my creation for this sketch uses a Host Exclusive stamp set in the 2015 Holiday Catalog called Antique Tags!I wanted to create one of my last Christmas cards of this season and I realized that I hadn’t used this darling Santa tag yet! I don’t like mt stamps to be neglected so I pulled this stamp out for today’s challenge! I also used a piece of the gorgeous designer series paper called Season of Cheer and selected the poinsettia design for my background. I then decided to use a series of circles for the bottom left corner of my card using Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler card stock layers until I got the desired affect. I really love how deep and rich these colors are together, I think they would make a series of fabulous Christmas cards!
