Mary’s Guest Stamper!

Today I have the honor and privilege of being a Guest Stamper at Mary Fish’s Blog Stampin’ Pretty! I am part of Mary’s wonderful group called the Pals and
I just love being a part of such a fun group of Guys and Gals! The
entire group is a fabulous support team and I am blessed to be a part
of!

When I sat down to try and create something to share today I wasn’t sure
where to start.I decided that I wanted to feature my favorite Bundle from the new 2015 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog! The Butterfly Basics Bundle has a complete two case stamp set and a stunning trio of dies that come in the Bundle together. You get a huge bang for your buck and trust me, you will love it! I wanted to show the different kind of cards you can create with this Bundle so I decided to create a pair to show how versatile it can be.

My first card uses Very Vanilla as the main background and a card base of Crumb Cake with a matting layer of Bermuda Bay. I used the largest die in the Butterflies Thinlits Dies set cut from Very Vanilla as my main focus on this card. I used a Sponge and Soft Sky Ink to create the tonal coverage on the large Butterfly. I used a few Glue Dots to stick this Butterfly down and I also added the fabulous ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment to the card base with some Bermuda Bay Ink. I love how simple yet elegant this card turned out. It really makes this butterfly pop!

For my second card I wanted to use the same Bundle, but time time I wanted to draw more attention to the stamps and not focus on the dies the color pallet for this card is different as well. I used a Whisper White focus with pops of color on the stamped images. The fern image and the butterfly image are again from the Butterfly Basics Stamp set, I simply love seeing these images stamped out! The butterfly is stamped in Calypso Coral on Whisper White cardstock and used the smallest of the three dies to cut out this image. I then stamped fully in Pear Pizzazz on the Whisper White Cardstock base. Then while keeping the fern stem in the same spot I once more stamped the image without reinking the stamp. This gave the fern a more subtle layered look. I stamped the ‘Happy Birthday‘ sentiment in Calypso Coral and then used a Glue Dot to attach the butterfly to the card base.

Two very different feeling cards both created by a simply fabulous new Stamp Set and matching Die Bundle, Butterfly Basics Bundle! If you haven’t picked up this bundle yet, now is the time! We are in the midst of Sale-A-Bration and with every $50 purchase you get to select one Reward from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog! You can’t go wrong! It’s my favorite time of the stampin’ year! If you decide to place an order today because you need this bundle as much as I did simply visit my Stampin’ Up! website – Jackie Diediker and add host code: BQR3AUT4. All online order using this code will be entered to win a fun gift from me!

Twitterpated!

Today I thought I would share with you a fun Valentine’s Day creation featuring one of our new Occasions Catalog stamp sets You Plus Me!

When I first saw the You Plus Me Stamp Set I was instantly looking forward to using the sentiment ‘twitterpated‘. It has such a nice sentiment to it, and I think of Bambi whenever I see it, just makes me smile! I used a simple 3×6 piece of Whisper White Cardstock to created a simple note card. I punched out this darling heart using the Sweetheart Punch. I then stamped the sentiment ‘twitterpated‘ under the heart in Cherry Cobbler so it would stand out a bit more. Then to finish off the card off and give some dimension to the negative space I attached a 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ square of Strawberry Slush Cardstock to the underside of the front panel using Dimensionals. I think this little notecard would put a smile on anyone’s face and they can be made easily in multiples. Perfect for a Valentine’s Day swap at any school or party!

Pals Paper Arts Challenge #236 – Sketch Challenge!

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #236 – Sketch Challenge. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in!
This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge!

I had such a great time playing with this week’s sketch challenge! There
are so many amazing items in this year’s Occassions Catalog that
you will love to get your hands on! Today I decided to play along with
this week’s challenge by using several of these new items. I used the Stacked with Love DSP Pad, the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape, and the You Plus Me Stamp Set! I used the colors in the Stacked With Love DSP Pad which include Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, and instead of using Real Red, I made this card pop by adding some Cherry Cobbler.
I simply love the patterns in this paper as well as all the wonderful
colors! I stamped the sentiment from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler them cleaned the area of the stamp where the arrows are to color those arrows in with a Crisp Cantaloupe Marker from the 2013-2015 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers, which are a part of this week’s Weekly Deals!
