Pals Paper Arts Challenge #268 – Celebrate!

Today I have a card for you following the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #268! This week’s challenge is a fun Sketch Challenge! Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in, be sure to come and join us using this fun sketch challenge:

I had a wonderful time working with this sketch, and I decided to finally use the Celebrate Today stamp set and matching Balloon Framelit Dies set that I haven’t had a chance to work with yet. Now I don’t know if I will be able to put this stamp set down. I simply love the solid balloons and getting the chance to use the different patterns, the stars and dots are fun touches to these balloons. I used the colors Blushing Bride and Watermelon Wonder for a bit of pop. With the sentiment added to the bottom left the ‘Celebrate’ could be used for almost any celebration. I loved creating a central focus on this card, the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge really brought out my creativity this week.

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge – #267

This week I have HUGE news! I am now a Pals Paper Arts Design Team Member! Woo hoo! Every other week I will be sharing creations for challenge inspiration along with the amazing Pals that are already a part of Pals Paper Arts Challenge Team #2! I simply can’t wait to get started! This week’s challenge is a fun Color Challenge! Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in, be sure to come and join us using this beautiful colors:

I had such a great time working with these colors, in fact the first thing I did was pull out the cardstock for each of these colors to come up with a starting point. I eventually decided to create using the fabulous stamp set Howl-O-Ween Treat Stamp Set and coordinating Boo Too You Framelit Dies – which are thankfully in a bundle! I used the bright Tangerine Tango cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Pool Party to capture my Crushed Curry piece of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I thought the random dots would be perfect for a Halloween card. Now, I know what you thinking, this color combination doesn’t scream Halloween – but I love how it all came together. I stamped the sentiment ‘Trick or Treat’ directly onto my Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper and added the cut out witch’s hat stamped in Pool Party. I ‘tied’ it all together with a bit of Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon to add a shine and a finishing touch. I know you want to try out this color combination to – so get creating! The challenge will be open until Tuesday morning!

Pals September Blog Hop – Favorites from the New Holiday Catalog!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September.  This month we are showing off our favorite new products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  We hope you enjoy our projects!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Dawn Tidd at Tiddbits From Dawn, number 15 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

For my project today I decided to share this simple, but elegant card I created as part of my Holiday Catalog Open House recently. I used the wonderful Wonderland Stamp Set and paired it with our fabulous new Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad. I simply love how crisp and clean the images are when I stamp them using our new Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad. Both the trees and the sentiment ‘Silent Night’ stamped perfectly for everyone who used them. For the background I used the snowflake stamp in the Wonderland Stamp Set and the Craft Whisper White Ink Pad to make them pop off of this Basic Black cardstock.

For a classy touch I added a bit of the 5/8″ Whisper White Satin Ribbon and I think it really finishes off this project nicely. I don’t typically use white and black for winter cards, but the contrast is just stellar in this creation and I do hope you can see how these items are some of my favorites in the Holiday Catalog this year!

The next stop is Becky Volpp at InkBlossomwithBecky, number 17 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
