It’s Carrot Time!

I know, your looking at the title of this post and saying, “She’s gone mad!”. Oh, but you would be so wrong! I’ve gone into full swing Easter creation mode! This past weekend I took the time to make lots of fun goodies and gifts for Easter. Be sure to stop by this weekend as I have lots more to share!

I created this fun Carrot shaped jellybean container which would be the perfect touch to an Easter basket for people of all ages. Each year my parents create Easter baskets for myself, my siblings, and our significant others. I have tried to come up with items that I can give them for something I put together in return and I think I have found a winner! These little Carrot treats are so darn cute! It took a bit of trial and error for me, since the number of jellybeans in the Carrot change the weight and if your using sticky strip for the central seam it may come apart. The solution to this is to use Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive (the green bottle!) for the central seam and use Sticky Strip at the other seams. Be sure to let the glue dry before adding any candies, you don’t want a mess of glue everywhere.

I used a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Crisp Cantaloup cardstock to create the base of the Carrot and Pistachio Pudding to create the Carrot top! Then, I ran the Crisp Cantaloupe through my Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder from Sale-A-Bration to create the texture. If you weren’t able to take advantage of the awesome freebie offer last month there are so many Dot Embossing Folders offered by Stampin’ Up! that you can create this texture using any one of them. I then created what is referred to as a ‘sour cream container’, they are a little tricky to start, but after one it all makes sense! The only difference was that along one of the long sides of my paper (5 1/2″ side) I attached the Carrot greens that I used my Paper Snips on to create the illusion of a carrot top. To finish off my creation after adding the Jellybeans of course I stamped ‘Happy Easter’ from the Delightful Dozen stamp set on a Whisper White Modern Label Punch and then mounted it on a Pistachio Pudding Scalloped Oval Punch backing.

I do hope you enjoyed what I had to share with you today! I gave my Facebook Page followers a sneak peak of my creation yesterday. If you want to see some special postings and peeks be sure to join my facebook page at Stampin’ Jackie! Have a fabulous day!

Pals Paper Arts #199 – A Color Challege!

I got the chance to play along with the current Pals Paper Arts Challenge #199 – Color Challenge. Each week the Pals Paper Arts team creates fabulous samples and invites their readers to join in! This weeks challenge is a color challenge that includes: Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, and So Saffron.

I got the chance to play along this weekend with this fun color

This was such a fun color combination! I did what I always do for color challenges I pulled out all of my cardstock and designer series paper and started planning. I decided to use the Starburst Sayings stamp set for this weeks challenge. I told you I can’t seem to put this stamp set down and I adore the Starburst Framelits too! I wanted to make a simple but fun and bright card and I think that I was able to achieve that, plus the piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper really adds to the whole look!

I do hope you like what I had to share today, I had so much fun working with these colors! I hope you stop by again soon! Have a wonderful day!

A Gift For You!

I am a crafter of all sorts. I love stamping and card making, in fact it’s probably my favorite of the crafts I do, but with being a crafter comes Craft Fairs and now with joining Stampin’ Up! I am also signing up for Vendor Events. I have done booths at craft fairs since I was 12 (possibly earlier, not exactly sure), but it’s something I love doing.

Tomorrow evening I am part of a Vendor event and I am treating it as if I was going to a Craft fair! I spent a lot of time these past two weeks working on different projects and items that I will have out along with my card stash and some past Paper Pumpkin kits. I thought I would take some time and share with you some of the projects I have been making. Today’s share is a super fun and easy favor or gift to give to anyone. I think that these would be fabulous for a Baby Shower or Bridal Shower, a Stocking Stuffer, an Easter Basket item, a ‘just because’ gift even. In fact I gave my co-workers similar creations in different colors with a different label image on Valentine’s Day that everyone loved.

Creating these is simple! I used a 2″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper. I scored the paper at 2 1/2″ and 3 1/2″ then I used my Scalloped Tag Punch and punched each side of my paper strip. Helpful tip – Always score before you punch otherwise the finished paper size will be too small. I then used my Artisan Label and punched out this tag stamp which I used coordinating ink with to match the papers. I then added a Hershey mini chocolate bar inside and tied it together with some retired ribbons I have in my stash. Super simple and fun creations!

Thank you for stopping by today, I do hope you enjoyed what I shared with you today. Have a fabulous day!
